The most romantic square in Paris

1.jpgWhen you are close to the Notre-Dame cathedral, do not make the same mistake as me. It has taken me several years of living in Paris to discover the most romantic Parisian square. And it takes so little. From the Notre-Dame continue along the Seine river till the end of the l’Ile de la Cité island. Behind the fasades of the buildings facing the Seine there is hidden one of the most beautiful, charming and discrete squares.

What Haussmann gave to Paris

4.jpgAs soon as you walk at least some boulevards in Paris, you will certainly be impressed by the fasades of pale sandstone buildings of Haussmanian style. On the first sight they give the impression that they are all the same, but Paris is a harmonious whole which consists of many various details.

Bouquinistes - booksellers on the Seine quays

01.jpgThe word „bouquiniste“ belonging to Paris almost does need translation. Wooden green boxes along the Seine river with the sellers of old books, magazines and small souvenirs are an unthinkable part of Paris history and charm.
